

About the surgeon
Daniel Torrent is a vascular surgeon practicing in North Georgia. After graduating from medical school at the Ohio State University he completed a general surgery residency at East Carolina University and a vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. After training he worked for several years in Roanoke, Virginia, as a member of the Aortic Center at Carilion Clinic. While at Carilion Clinic he was a member of the faculty for the surgical residency where he worked with surgeons in trainings. He was also an associate professor of surgery at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. He then moved to Georgia where he is a member of the Longstreet Clinic with the vascular surgery practice and has privileges at Northeast Georgia Medical Center as well as Northside Hospital. Dr. Torrent is board certified in general surgery and vascular surgery. He is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has spoken at regional and national conferences. As a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery he serves on multiple committees and is an ambassador for the Highway to Health public education campaign. Dr. Torrent believes that good medical care is based on the best available evidence as well as taking into the account the needs of the individual patient.
